# Does macos have an alternative to windows sandbox?

I want to sandbox apps that aren’t from app store (which are sandboxed by default)

They are not.

On the macOS App Store they are sandboxed.

macOS has `sandbox-exec` but it’s technically deprecated. Feel free to use it though if you want.

Windows Sandbox and sandboxing are two different things… If you want the former maybe you could look into this?
