Federal Council’s Ghost Drive Toward Surveillance State - Finally Stop It!

For innovative tech companies like Proton or Threema, whose business models depend on maximum privacy and secure communication, Switzerland has so far been a good location outside the Orwellian surveillance apparatus of the EU. However, this would change abruptly with the planned revision of the surveillance ordinance VÜPF. Despite devastating criticism, the Federal Council wants to stick to its plans, putting the entire population under general suspicion and massively restricting Swiss fundamental and civil rights.

I condemn what the Swiss state is trying to do but at the same time the website (and especially the domain name) where the petition is hosted on is questionable… Does anyone know why they didn’t use a more mainstream platform?

Also people in Switzerland don’t just speak German, so I wonder why it’s only available in that language.

Out of curiosity, why is the petition only available in German if Switzerland has 3 official languages?

Switzerland has 4 national languages but I’m asking myself the same thing. The website seems to be a weird pan-german speaking nationalist thing.

Also their “About us” page reveals that they are just repeating and creating petitions based on the usual right wing talking points.
