Hah!
But euphamisms and sugar coating stupidity is just good PR for it, if you ask me.
I’m just jaded. Don’t listen to me.

Is that a bad joke? Do they really want to enforce age verification on all operating systems including Linux? If yes, then I’m really starting to think US lawmakers want USA to become China.
New York now? This isn’t even enforceable?!?
“New York could have stopped at asking users to enter a birth year. It could have adopted California’s self-declaration approach, which was already bad enough.
It chose to build something harder to circumvent and far more invasive, then handed rule-writing authority to an AG whose stated preference is biometric assessment and government documents. The child safety rationale is real. The surveillance infrastructure being constructed in its name extends well beyond any child.”
Very interesting a lot of states are having this pop up in very similar timeframes.
If operating systems are forced to add age verification, I suggest distros also require users to declare the following:
“Are you a politician that voted for age verification? [Yes] [No] “
If the user declares that they are a politician that voted for age verification, the system installation is terminated after displaying a message that reads “You are a stupid F-wit and are not authorised to use this software.”
