# Brave Launches Paid, Bloat-Free "Brave Origin"

## Update

I did get around to testing if the “daily usage ping” toggle still disappears on second boot even if the user never disabled it. I’ve left the results of this further testing below.

Since my previous post covered the case of a user disabling the “daily usage ping” toggle and then restarting the browser this post will cover a user **not** disabling the “daily usage ping” toggle before restarting the browser.

### Brave Origin Stable

This is the “Data collection” subheading of the “Privacy and Security” page of Brave Origin’s settings upon first boot.

I think this quote from my previous post with a slight modification (in brackets) sums up the situation pretty well.

I did find [this forum thread](https://community.brave.app/t/brave-origin-daily-ping-why-is-it-enabled-by-default/653833) on the Brave community forum discussing the _same issue_ but it looks like not much progress has been made there yet. Perhaps I should add some of this data to the conversation there as well. :thinking:
