Anyway, a general question, if someone has a NAS (Synology for example), it does not make sense, right? --- ## Post 21 by @Rasta — 2024-12-01T06:12:49Z This is literally a reskinned TrueNAS made for the average person, and if you read the quote I left, you’d see that it’s only for the software, not for cloud backup or any metered services that have ongoing costs. As to Synology it is useful because eventually your synology nas needs to be replaced or expanded and you buy another one. With NAS software like HexOS, or TrueNAS you just replace the hardware and keep the software.
