Ars Technica: Man jailed for a month despite Flock showing he was 5 miles from crime scene

A San Diego police department is facing a lawsuit after jailing a man for a month based on a Flock camera alert that cops allegedly should have known, based on the timestamp, did not depict the car that they were looking for.

I’ve always believed in looking boring or common in all areas to blend in with the crowd for privacy, but this is one of those times when a huge "Honk if you’re horny" bumper sticker could have kept him out of jail.

What a nightmare. I recall a lady recently was jailed for months because she looked like a fraud criminal in another state.

I hope they get the $1.5mil payout, but also an overhaul of this insane practice of checking the data well after throwing them into jail.
