Yes. Everything except the VPN appears to be down right now due to a major global outage. Pretty wild timing, considering I was already thinking about not keeping all my eggs in one basket after Privacy Guides published their password manager tier list today. Not being able to log into anything has definitely made the case for switching password managers a lot stronger.
Proton is currently experiencing a major outage:
According to their status page, it was due to a critical cooling failure in their Frankfurt datacenter.
I didn’t even realize ProtonPass was down too.
These things cannot happen with such critical services for extended periods.
This is something you have to accept when you rely on a third party for something critical. Its a good reminder to prepare for these situations.
I agree but this is always something you need to accept, even when self-hosting and then availability will arguably be worse especially if you’re not in front of your computer and on holidays or smth
They shouldn’t happen I agree but they’ll always happen, that is why no serious provider has an SLA of 100% uptime
It did not seem to take long. I think they managed this test quite well.
