Most vendors want to collect as much information as possible, for future targeting or, even sell your data. They can use the “[know your customer”](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Know_your_customer) excuse.

There is another practical concern from vendors, the abusers might register hundreds of accounts, they use disposable email addresses to achieve the scale, vendors don’t want that.
