# Admin session on MacOS or via setting

Hi there is a setting to ask the password for all tasks that affect the entire computer. Isn’t it enough to spot when something asks for admin privileges ? Or is there an advantage to create a separate empty admin user ?

That is what already happens if you’re not using an admin account, which is exactly why you should make a separate admin user, and use a standard user for regular tasks.

That setting will only make it prompt while changing certain system settings in the settings app, while using a standard user account will make it prompt for **everything** that requires admin privileges.

Thanks now I get it  
I think I’ll do it but this is very annoying (To update apps mainly)  
Because when I had to update apps like Brave Windscribe or Notesnook, I already had to enter my password. With this setting on
